Featuring: Heritage, Great Chamberlain, The Frasiers, The Pixo Control, The Mulch and the Mire & Aldous. Photography exhibition - "Graffiti Reframed" will open May 1 and feature photographs, by local youth of graffiti found in the downtown core. This project is in collaboration with the Art Gallery of Algoma, NORDIK Institute and the Arts Council of SSM & District. Leaf and Message …'write a message, write a poem or draw a picture on a paper leaf. These will all be hung on a tree outside the AGA. It’s a way to send a message to passerby in a public forum. This will give youth a voice in their community. It will make people pause and consider a different point of view'. Sculptor, Phil Jones will lead a soapstone carving workshop for local youth with the final works on display at our Launch Party. The completed work - "In A Child's World - A Community Collage" will be on display at the AGA on May 1. This community art project is in collaboration with the Arts Council of SSM & Best Start Hub - Holy Angels School. We will live stream the Launch Party between 6:30 - 7:00PM EST and say "Hello" to other NYAW celebrations across Canada!
