National Youth Arts Week provides an opportunity for young people across Canada to create a celebration of youth led events showcasing their talents, expressing and exchanging ideas, getting excited about the arts and celebrating their positive contribution to their communities and to Canada.

This is the second annual Extracurricular event being held in Waterloo Public Square on Saturday, May 3 from 12:00 noon - 9:00 pm by the eyeGo to the Arts Youth Council. . The event will consist of a tradeshow where different organizations and vendors from across the city will be present to promote themselves and the opportunity they provide youth within the community. The evening will include performances from local musicians and programming by our partner vendors and exhibitors and then finally culminating by a Dare Night and a live headliner band performance presented by the eyeGO Youth Council!

The night you've been waiting for is here and we're presenting teen talent from across Cambridge - Hespeler, Preston and Galt - for the kick-off to National Youth Arts Week.
Join us at the Cambridge Arts Theatre and enjoy a night of musical performances by students from St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School, Southwood Secondary School, Nightingale Piano Studio and Queen Street Music School to name a few. Theatre performances by the Cambridge Community Players and YMCA Cambridge & Kitchener Newcomer Youth Theatre. Great performances by the Kinbridge Neighbourhood Association youth and the YMCA Teen Drop In Zone will take place throughout the night.
Also be sure to keep an eye out for a special showing by Morph Dance Studio and the DYI Wearable Art Fashion Show from the YWCA.

The Festival théâtre-jeunesse is an annual theatre festival for French and Immersion students from junior high and high schools. Founded in 1970, this festival attracts up to 700 participating students every year, many of them writing and producing their own plays.
