Student talent from all over Calgary have been personally handpicked and selected by professional urban artists from Toronto to share their story and chosen art form. The Showcase will feature hip hop dance, graffiti art, beatboxing/vocal percussion, and spoken word poetry/emceeing. The 2014 GlobalFest Youth Forum is a partnership between GlobalFest, UNITY Charity, and ConocoPhillips Canada. Together, the Forum actively engages student youth through assemblies and artistic workshops. The purpose of the program is to encourage the arts as an alternate or supplementary form of education and expression while fighting against mindsets of negativity, discrimination, and violence. The Youth Forum addresses teenage issues ranging from bullying and racism, to relationships and drug abuse. The 2014 GlobalFest Youth Forum reaches out to over 3,000 students and teachers annually.
